Making Little Things!

A colleague has been making some little things for Fairy Mother...doll clothes to be specific. Every year in the Waldorf Kindergarten Fairy Mother (who lives in Little Land, of course) helps new and returning little ones find their way into Waldorf kindergartens. There the Little Ones find their very own child that they will eventually go home with to stay forever. How to make their pants though? Here are the directions for one method of pants.

Step 1: Cut two pant legs out...on the fold!

Step 2: Open them up and pin them together...right side facing in

Step 3: Sew on each diagonal edge. Use a strong stitch like a backstitch. (It's like jump frog for sewing) If you don't know how to backstitch, I'm sure there are 1000 videos out there.

Step 4: Don't forget to sew the other side too!

Step 5: This part tricks people. Open what you've sewn...it's like a cootie catcher.

Once open, they will look like real pants. Small ones though.

Pin each leg...

Sew down each pant leg. Use a strong stitch like backstitch starting from the crotch area.

Make certain to sew both sides!

Now it will look like this:

Turn inside out and you're ready to deliver to Fairy Mother for a Little One!
